Questions & Answers Regarding Research Study

Q.      What was the purpose of the study?
A.       The study was done to compare and evaluate three popular interpersonal skills
training programs.  The programs were the DiSC model from Inscape Publishing,
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) from CPP, Incorporated and the Social
Style Model from the Tracom Group.  All three programs claim to develop
interpersonal skills related to greater workplace effectiveness such as communication,
    teambuilding and leadership development.

Q.       What were the key findings of the research?
A.       There were three key findings from the research:
    1.        Participants of all three training classes had very positive response to the
training.  Participants of the Myers-Briggs class had the highest overall.
    2.        Participants of Social Style training showed the best retention of course
    concepts.
    3.        Participants of Social Style training were better able to identify style and type
information after the class and identify appropriate ways of working with people of
    various styles/types.

Q.       Is the research statistically valid?
A.       The research was designed to be statistically valid and analytically rigorous.  The
use of a large sample size, independent researchers and training facilitators further
ensure the validity of this research.  A variety of advanced analysis techniques were
    used to evaluate the findings.

Q.      What conclusions can be drawn from the research?
A.       The three primary findings of the research demonstrate that while all three programs
are well received by program participants, the Social Style training resulted in a higher
level of learning of the key course concepts and Social Style training participants
were better able to apply the material in identifying type/style and using that
    information to identify appropriate behaviors.

The results of this study suggest that the training supporting the Social Style Model is
the most effective for improving interpersonal skills related to others.

Q.      How was the research conducted?
A.       Regis Learning Solutions was responsible for the recruitment and scheduling of
the the training partcipants and the recruitment, orientation and assignment of the
training facilitators.  Training classes were held in classrooms at Regis University or
in the offices of training participants when all participants in a single class were from
the same employer.  Each training was approximately four hours long.

Faculty and graduate students from Colorado State University developed the research
methodology, collected the data and prepared the findings.  At the end of each
training class, a researcher from CSU or Regis Learning gathered data for the
evaluation and comparison of the programs.

Q.      Who performed the training?
A.      The training facilitators were independent professional trainers who were certified
to train on the particular program and assessment model they were assigned to train.
Each training program was taught by multiple facilitators.  Each of the program
publishers provided the training materials that were used in the program.  The
specific assessment profiles used were:  DiSC Personal Profile System, Social Style
Profile Multi-rater and MBTI Form Q.

Q.       Who were the organizers of the research?
A.       The research was organized and managed by the Center for Organizational
Excellence at Colorado State University and Regis Learning Solutions.

Q.       Who are the authors of the research paper?
A.       The research was overseen and the paper authored by Kurt Kraiger, Ph.D. of
Colorado State University and Stephen Kirkpatrick Ph.D. of Regis Learning
Solutions.  Dr. Kraiger is a Professor of Psycholotgy and Co-Director of the Center
for Organizational Excellence.  He has written or presented more than 120 academic
papers, most on topics related to training and performance appraisal.  He serves on
multiple editorial boards and scientific advisory panels.

Dr. Kirkpatrick, Executive Vice President and Chief Learning Officer of Regis
Learning Solutions.  He has worked in the human performance business for more
than 30 years working in both corporate positions and academia.  He is the author of
dozens or articles, papers and books.

Q.      How many people were involved in this research?

    were working adults.

Q.       When the research conducted?
A.        The training classes were conducted in August and September of 2007.
